The history of Mozi

Historical evolution

Mo, originally called Wei (wei), was only called Mo in the Han Dynasty.

The development of stone grinding in my country can be divided into three periods: early, middle and late:

From the Warring States Period to the Western Han Dynasty is the early period. During this period, the grinding of teeth was dominated by pits. The shapes include rectangle, circle, triangle, jujube stone, etc., and the shapes are diverse and extremely irregular; from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the middle period of the Three Kingdoms, this period was a period of diversified development of the grinding teeth. The shape of the grinding teeth is a radial zoned diagonal shape, with Four-zone, six-zone, and eight-zone types; the late period is from the Western Jin Dynasty to the Sui and Tang Dynasties (to the present). This period is the mature stage of stone grinding development. The mainstream grinding teeth are the eight-zone diagonal type, and there are also the ten-zone diagonal type.

Stone mill

Grinding uses human power, animal power and water power.

Mills using water power as power were invented around the Jin Dynasty.

The power part of the water mill is a horizontal water wheel. The upper fan of the mill is installed on the vertical axis of the wheel. The flowing water impels the water wheel to drive the mill to rotate. This kind of mill is suitable for installation in places where the impulse force of the water is relatively large. place.

If the impulsive force of the water is relatively small, but the water volume is relatively large, another form of water mill can be installed: the power machine is a vertical wheel, a gear is installed on the axle, and a grinding wheel is mounted flat on the lower part of the grinding shaft. Gears connect.

The rotation of the water wheel is caused by the gears that rotate the mill.

These two forms of water mills have relatively simple structures and are widely used.

When history developed into the 1970s, people cleverly combined ancient technology with modern elements to create stone grinders driven by electric motors, including two styles of stone grinders and disc grinders. Stone grinding and roller stone grinding.

The grinding part of the chip stone mill is divided into fixed and rotating parts, forming a horizontal structure. The fixed part is a half cut out on one long side of a rectangular stone that matches the rotating part. A cylindrical groove, the rotating part is made into a cylinder, and a hole is drilled in the middle to penetrate the transmission shaft. The surface of the contact area between the semicircular stone groove and the rotating cylinder is engraved with patterns similar to ancient stone mills, and the corresponding shielding of the transmission part forms a combination of ancient and new. The product of the roller stone mill; the grinding part of the roller stone mill is a roller-shaped cylindrical rock, shaped like a steel mill roller, and the surface is engraved with patterns similar to ancient stone mills.

Inventor

The inventor of the stone mill--Lu Ban

Lu Ban was an outstanding inventor in ancient China.

He lived in the late Spring and Autumn Period and was called Gongshu Ban. Because he was from the state of Lu, he was also called Lu Ban.

It is said that he invented saws, planes, rulers, etc. for woodworking.

He also used his wisdom to solve many problems in people's lives.

In the era when Lu Ban lived, when people wanted to eat rice noodles and wheat flour, they put the rice and wheat in stone mortars and pounded them with rough stone sticks.

It is very laborious to use this method. The powder produced can be coarse or fine, and very little is pounded at one time.

Luban wanted to find a way to achieve greater results with less effort.

The grinding fan is made of two flat cylindrical stones with a certain thickness.

There is a short vertical shaft made of iron in the middle of the lower fan. There is a corresponding empty sleeve in the middle of the upper fan. After the two fans are combined, the lower fan is fixed and the upper fan can rotate around the axis.

There is an empty chamber on the opposite side of the two leaves, called the grinding chamber. The outer periphery of the chamber is made of grinding teeth that rise and fall.

The upper fan has grinding eyes. When grinding, the grain flows into the grinding chamber through the grinding eyes, is evenly distributed around, is ground into powder, flows from the cracks to the grinding disc, and is sieved to remove the bran. Wait and you will get flour.

Many rural areas still use stones to grind noodles.

Traditional chip stone mill

In 1968, a millstone dating from approximately 100 years ago was unearthed from a Han tomb in Mancheng, Baoding City, Hebei Province. The stone mill in 2100 was a copper and stone composite mill composed of a stone mill and a copper funnel.

This is the earliest stone grinding object discovered so far in my country.

Modern chip stone mill

Modern chip stone mill retains the grinding part of the traditional stone mill, namely two cylindrical rocks, and changes the traditional power generation device from the original The power generated by the donkey for grinding wheat is changed to the power generated by the electric motor for grinding wheat, and a conveying device and a cleaning device are added at the same time.

Compared with traditional flake stone mills, modern flake stone mills save labor, reduce labor workload, and increase stone grinding output.

The conveying device consists of major components such as a large hopper, a fan, an air closer, a sacron and a pipe.

The cleaning device consists of main components such as screen tissue, brushes and circles.
