Agave americana (Agave americana L.), also known as Agave americana and Fenugreek, is a large perennial evergreen herb in the Agave family, Agave spp. Because of its firm leaves, evergreen, yellow-green flowers, after flowering on the inflorescence generated very few bead buds. The origin is generally decades before flowering, flowering after the mother plant died, heterogamous pollination in order to bear fruit. Prefer well-drained, fertile and moist sandy soil. Native to tropical America; South China and Southwest China provinces and regions are often introduced into cultivation.
