The roots are also known as cogongrass, Imperata cogongrass, and Imperata cogongrass root
It tastes sweet and bitter, cold in nature, and non-toxic.
Meridian return: Enters the lung meridian, stomach meridian, and small intestine meridian.
Function: Cool blood to stop bleeding, clear away heat and detoxify.
Indications: used for vomiting blood, hematuria, hot stranguria, edema, jaundice, difficulty urinating, febrile disease and polydipsia, stomach heat, vomiting, and cough.
It can be taken orally, decoction 10-15g (double if fresh), puree or grind into powder.
