How is milk powder made?
Milk powder is made by filtering and purifying raw milk, sterilizing at high temperature, adding sugar, concentrating and drying.

Milk powder is a powder made of milk and milk by freezing or heating to remove almost all the water in milk and drying it, which is called milk powder. Milk powder is generally produced by heating method. There are three heating methods: pot method, roller method and spray method.

1, filtration and purification of raw milk

Fresh raw milk and raw goat milk are inspected, filtered, purified and standardized immediately after entering the factory, so that the ratio of fat to fat-free dry matter in raw milk is equal to that in milk powder to be produced.

2, high temperature sterilization

The method of instantaneous sterilization at high temperature for a short time or ultra-high temperature is adopted. Such as heating at 80-85℃ for 5- 10 min, and heating at 90-95℃ for 10- 15 sec.

Step 3 add sugar

In the production of sweetened or other formula milk powder, sucrose needs to be added to the ingredients. Generally, the sugar content of milk powder is below 20%.

Step 4 focus

Before spray drying, it should be concentrated in vacuum. Remove 70-80% moisture from milk. Vacuum concentration can greatly reduce the evaporation of water during spray drying, improve the particles of milk powder and improve the preservation of milk powder.

dry

The principle of spray drying is that under the action of high pressure or high-speed centrifugal force, concentrated milk is sprayed into the drying room through an atomizer, and when it comes into contact with the blown hot air, the water evaporates instantly, so that the milk powder is dried into particles. The milk powder produced in this way has fast drying speed, good dispersibility and high degree of automation.
