1.DVDRip(DivX)
The so-called DVDRip is an audio-visual playing format formed by using DivX compression technology to compress video images of DVD discs with high quality, using MP3 or AC3 to compress audio, then merging video and audio into an AVI file (AVI (Audio-Video Interlacing)) and finally adding plug-in subtitle files.
Its size is usually several hundred megabytes, which is a fraction of the size of a DVD. Note that when a DVD is converted into DVDRip, some features of DVD such as menu navigation, track selection and segment selection will be lost, but compared with its advantages and convenience of collection and communication, these losses can be ignored.
2.RMVB
This format is an upgrade from RM movie format. VB is VBR, which is the abbreviation of variable bit rate. It breaks the previous method of RM format average compression sampling, and makes rational use of bit rate resources on the basis of ensuring the average compression ratio, so that RMVB can minimize the size of the film at the expense of a small part of the film quality, and finally has a nearly perfect audio-visual effect close to DVD quality.
Compared with DVDRip, the advantages of RMVB are self-evident. First of all, under the premise of ensuring the overall audio-visual effect of the film, the size of RMVB is only about 300 MB ~ 450 MB (calculated by a 90-minute standard film), while DVDRip needs more than 700MB. In addition, it also has the advantages of built-in subtitles, no plug-in support, and low system occupancy when playing, which is the real mainstream format of online movies.
3.MKV
It is considered by many friends to subvert the mainstream media format of DVDRip in the future. It is actually a new multimedia packaging format, also known as multimedia container. It is different from video coding formats such as DivX and XviD, and also from audio coding formats such as MP3 and Ogg. MKV only provides shell "combination" and "encapsulation" formats for these audio and video. In other words, it is a container format, and the common AVl, VOB, MPEG and RM formats actually belong to this type. However, they are either outdated or not open enough, which leads to the birth of new multimedia packaging formats, such as MKV.
The biggest feature of MKV is that it can accommodate many different types of encoded video, audio and subtitle streams, even including very closed streaming media such as RealMedia and QuickTime. It can be said that it is a great subversion of the traditional media format and has almost become a universal media container.
You don't need a special player to play MKV. Any DirectShow-based player can play MKV, such as Classic, BSplayer, ZoomPlayer and even Windows Media player. You just need to install the corresponding Matroska decoder plug-in. It is recommended to download the decoder integration software Kaixinxiu (/down/ Kaixinxiu 408.zip).
Know different versions of this film.
On many download websites, in addition to the format of the film, it will also be marked as TVRip, TS version and so on. What do these mean? You can have a simple understanding of them through the following contents.
1. Cam (gun type)
CAM version is usually pirated from the cinema with a digital camera, which is the so-called "movie version". Because the camera often shakes in the process of bootlegging, and the sound is recorded with the camera's own microphone, the gun version can be said to be the worst quality film, which is not only poor in picture, but also often mixed with the audience's laughter, whispering and eating popcorn. If you see this version of the movie, I suggest you not download it. If it has been downloaded, it is better to delete it immediately.
2.TS version
TS version (TeleSync) is also a pirated version, but it uses an external audio source (usually an earphone hole for hard of hearing people in a cinema seat). However, this does not mean that TS version will be better than CAM version. External audio sources are usually disturbed by the background environment and sound very noisy. Therefore, many times TS bootleg goods will be recorded in cinemas with low attendance or projection rooms with professional cameras, so the picture quality may be better than CAM version, but overall, the picture quality of TS version fluctuates greatly, so it is better to touch it less.
3.TC (transparent version)
TC version (telecine) is a version that directly copies digital images from film by telecine (the principle of telecine is to convert the images copied from movies into analog or digital tape signals according to the needs of TV broadcast signals, which should be familiar to viewers who often watch CCTV-6). Because its production method is very simple, it doesn't need to edit and decorate the obtained image too much, so its image quality can't be compared with that of digitally decorated DVD.
This technology is used in some genuine DVD discs in China. But for those movies that haven't released the original DVD, TC version is the best choice. In addition, the "Ming version" that people often say also refers to this version.
4.TVRip version
TV series converted from TV (preferably intercepted from digital cable TV/satellite TV) and programs received by receiving satellites, and then intercepted and compressed into files by TV cards. Many variety shows and sports programs we watch are TVRip. Some TV plays will also be released by TVRip.
5. Other abbreviations
D-R, DVD-RMVB or D2R: indicates that the movie is converted from DVD format to RMVB format.
VCD-RMVB:VCD compressed and converted into RMVB format.
[500K] or [600K]: generally appears after the RMVB file, indicating the compression ratio. The larger the value, the clearer the picture, but the larger the file.
6. Key abbreviations
Appropriate: full version UNRATE: unabridged R-RATE: abridged.
WS: stands for widescreen FS: stands for full screen with additional content: movie with tidbits.
