Taiwanese actress and singer, born in Taiwan in 1955, was the first runner-up in a singing competition at the Taipei Today World Music Center in 1970, and has been active in the Taiwanese singing scene since then. 1973, she went to Hong Kong and became a movie star, with her breakout film, "A Woman's Face" (1973). She starred in 5 films a year after her marriage in 1976 and settled in England, accepting invitations to use London as her base. 1986 Guan Jinpeng invited her to co-star with Tsai Chin and Tony Leung Chiu-wai in Underground Love, and her acting skills were recognized, winning the Best Supporting Actress Award at the 6th Hong Kong Golden Film Awards. 1987, she starred in the film People's Heroes directed by Er Dongsheng (Taiwanese title Bank Fung Yun) and won the Hong Kong Golden Film Awards for the Best Supporting Actress Award again. In 1991, she went to Taiwan to perform in Edward Yang's "The Murder of a Young Man in Guling Street" (1991), "The Age of Independence" (1995), "Mahjong" (1996), and "One by One" (2000), in which "The Age of Independence" was awarded the Best Supporting Actress Award at the thirty-first Golden Horse Awards. Other works include "Moonlight Boys" (1993) directed by Yu Weiyan, "Song Dynasty" (1996) directed by Zhang Wanting, and "A Little Hundred Taboos" (2000) directed by Zhang Huilan. Kim Yin Ling is one of the most powerful actresses in Hong Kong and Taiwan, with vivid and tense acting skills, and is now settled in the UK.
