Xie Duan asked his neighbors about it, and they all said they didn't do it themselves. A few years later, he married a wife and moved up the career ladder to become a magistrate. Xie Duan set up a temple to thank the Water Vegetable Goddess, which is the Vegetable Goddess Shrine today.
