Colitis is a very common disease, also known as non-specific ulcerative colitis. What are the symptoms of colitis? Many friends are paying close attention to this issue. They don’t know what the early symptoms of colitis are. Let me introduce this issue to you.
(1) Abdominal pain. The abdominal pain at this time is mostly dull pain or cramping, often located in the left lower abdomen or lower abdomen.
But this pain will disappear after defecation. Patients with mild colitis have no abdominal pain or only abdominal discomfort. In addition, the patient's defecation process is more painful, and patients may experience diarrhea, bloody stool, and pus.
(2) Diarrhea. It is the main symptom in the early stage of colitis. In mild cases, it may occur 3 to 4 times a day, with soft or mushy stools that may be mixed with mucus, pus and blood; in severe cases, diarrhea or constipation may occur dozens of times a day, or may occur alternately. Frequent relapses are often caused by improper diet, emotional excitement, and excessive fatigue.
(3) Constipation. The frequency of bowel movements is infrequent, usually less than 2 or 3 times within 7 days, and even no bowel movements for more than 10 days. The stool volume is small, the stool is dry and hard, and it is difficult to pass. There is also abdominal discomfort or pain during defecation, but it can be relieved after defecation. It should be noted that constipation and diarrhea are both early symptoms of colitis. In severe cases, the two may alternate with each other, so special attention should be paid.
