The Monkey King couldn't stop hundreds of heavenly soldiers. Why couldn't he beat a monster on the way to learn the scriptures, and finally asked the gods for help?
Note: I had the same question when I watched Journey to the West as a child, but I was mostly vague when I asked my parents and elders. After reading this article, regardless of the right or wrong point of view, at least I think it is more interesting. Please post it and share it with everyone.

Why can the Monkey King make a scene and fight many goblins?

There is such a contradiction in Journey to the West that I have always been puzzled: the Monkey King, the Great Sage of the Monkey, made havoc in the Heavenly Palace and was invincible. If the Buddha does not come to the rescue, the whole Heavenly Palace will be in danger of "national subjugation", but it seems that it is difficult for the Great Sage to learn from the scriptures smoothly. Both the vanquished and the followers of the vanquished have become masters, either leaving the Great Sage helpless or asking the Great Sage to come out to help. When I was working on a project recently, I suddenly understood that Wu Cheng'en's writing just reflected his profound understanding of the management system and humanistic background of the feudal dynasty. If you don't believe me, listen to me in detail.

Before and after the Heavenly Palace catastrophe, the abilities of Sun, Tian Jiang and Monster have not changed, but the mentality of both warring parties has changed greatly.

Making trouble in Heaven is a contest between Sun Shengda and the gods in heaven, and also a contest between demons and gods.

At that time, Sun was just an enlightened demon. He is fearless, unhindered, and even afraid to take him out of hades. Winning is a supreme honor, and he may even redefine the order of heaven himself. He didn't consider the consequences of failure. Therefore, in Sun's mind, he is engaged in a high-yield, risk-free career, and naturally he goes all out and shows no mercy. But the gods in the sky have different mentality. Sun only opposes the Jade Emperor. His purpose is to defeat heaven in order to export evil spirits. He has no deep hatred for the gods, so all he does is steal food, wine and elixir. At best, it was just a small mistake, which affected the important meeting. Even if he went to the Heavenly Palace later, he didn't have a strong desire to destroy, and he didn't do anything like burning, killing and looting. Therefore, there is no conflict of interest between Sun and the gods.

At the same time, Sun's lethality is very strong, and the weapon in his hand can hurt all the opponents he meets. Therefore, the encirclement and suppression of Sun by the gods is actually a high-risk project, which was carried out under the pressure of his leader, the Jade Emperor. It is conceivable that in this case, what is the state of the combat effectiveness of the celestial side, and the so-called 100,000 heavenly soldiers will inevitably have ulterior motives and are full of expectations for the future.

Some people will say, why don't immortals increase their rank and rank by defeating Sun? This involves the ownership structure and incentive mechanism of Heaven.

According to the original text, although the elites in heaven are all high-quality, the feudal monarchy is still implemented. As the ruler, the Jade Emperor has the right to kill the gods as slaves, so the quality of life of the gods can only depend on the personal quality of the leader. However, it is mentioned in the article that the magistrate of Fengxian County was dragged down by the county's drought for three years just because he prayed for disrespect, and the general who was confined was demoted as a river demon just because he broke a glass lamp. It can be seen that the leader is very violent and the emperor is immortal, which shows that the immortal is really "endless crime."

According to the legend of China, it is very difficult to become a god. It is hard to imagine that the gods went through all the hardships in exchange for a greater institutional shackles. Therefore, in addition to the real vested interests, the immortals are bound to hate this system in their hearts and are very eager for a free life. Have you noticed that among the gods, only Yang Jian's team worked hard, because he had nepotism with the Jade Emperor. When Yang Jian cut Taoshan to save his mother, he was very brave, but in the end he was still a mortal. Later, he suddenly became a fairy who could not abide by feudal etiquette. There must be something hidden. Probably the Jade Emperor turned heaven into a family business and gave his nephew Yang Jian a job where he could enjoy human sacrifice without working. How can you convince the rest of the immortals?

Let's go back to the last question. Even if some immortals beat Sun and got promoted, so what? They can only become the most powerful courtiers at most, and they still can't get rid of the fate of being ruled. And "being with the monarch is like being with the tiger", because this leader will always be the person they can face in the future, even if he is tactful, maybe one day after thousands of years, he will give up all his efforts because of a mistake. Therefore, it is obvious that the gold diamond cut of Taishang Laojun may have taken away the golden hoop, but it was only used to hit people; Taibai Venus Jade Bottle can obviously suck people, but the old man hides far away.

And be an ordinary god? First of all, God is immortal, and there is no question of honoring ancestors and sealing wives and children. Therefore, reactive power is far less stressful than active survival, and there is no need to take the risk of disability for a title without substantive content.

The income of the confrontation between the gods and Sun Shengda turned negative, but the risk became infinite. Immortals are extremely clever, and this abacus is unclear. In order to avoid the censure of the leaders, they must dress neatly and scream loudly in the battle, but there is no record of the close-knit battle, and there is no unique skill, which is the so-called work without effort.

In fact, there is another place in the book that reflects the same problem. The lion spirit in Shituoling also scared off hundreds of heavenly soldiers. Was there any fierce fighting in the meantime? No, he just opened his mouth to scare him, and Shanbing gave in. Anyway, the lion essence only wants a birthright, and the immortal has no actual loss of interest. Don't fight if you can. However, during Sun's translation of Buddhist scriptures, the situation changed. At this time, Sun is already a "scattered fairy", which means that his identity is no longer a monster, and he is only a little bit away from becoming an immortal. His opponent turned into a complete demon.

The goblin's purpose against Sun Shengda is to eat the flesh of Tang Priest or suck the mandarin duck of Tang Priest, and its related income is immortality-the basic feature of immortals. The risk of this work is also enormous ―― it will be wiped out by Sun. For monsters, this is a high-yield and high-risk undertaking. According to Marx's Das Kapital, people dare to take the risk of losing their heads for 300% profit. I'm afraid the income from becoming an immortal in one step is far more than 300%. You can imagine how fanatical and brave monsters will be to achieve their goals.

The most powerful monsters have a certain background. They know that their master is extraordinary, and even if they are at fault, they don't have to worry about being punished. There are many similar chapters in the book: the subordinates or mounts of the gods violated the rules and made mistakes, but the gods solemnly explained that the Tang Priest was bound to suffer disasters, and the attacks of subordinates were part of these disasters.

Therefore, although the purpose of subordinates is very dark, they have indirectly made a lot of efforts for the experimental work of Tathagata Buddha, helping Tang Priest to complete the task of suffering. Therefore, in essence, their work belongs to the nature of help, not the relationship between the enemy and ourselves. They can let bygones be bygones, keep their original posts and re-employ. Such remarks provide an excellent opportunity for all goblins with strength and background. Their job risk has dropped to zero, and their income is still high. Can such an unpaid business of killing people stop the goblins from trying their best to move forward wave after wave?

Correspondingly, Sun has no ambition to become a Buddha. The purpose of fighting monsters is not to kill all the monsters in the world, but to protect Master from going to the Western Heaven for Buddhist scriptures. He didn't have a blood feud with the monster before, but only came to the rescue when the monster attacked Tang Priest, so his job was to fight back passively. Militarily speaking, attack is the best defense, while simple defense is a very dangerous behavior, so Sun has already lost the battle first.

At the same time, due to the lack of self-protection awareness and anti-risk ability, the protected Tang Priest was often held hostage by monsters, which made Sun always in a state of throwing the boat at the rescue work, and he could not let go of his hands and feet at work, so he lost another game.

In addition, the Tang Priest is very pedantic, often suspecting that Sun killed innocent people, and frequently hitting him with the "tightening curse" of torture, which not only seriously dampened Sun's enthusiasm for work, but also prevented him from effectively preparing for the crisis, let alone actively eliminating hidden dangers. The feedforward work of information reached a deadlock, and he had to solve the problem through feedback work, and his combat effectiveness was lost again.

Therefore, in this contest between Sun and the monster, the monster knows himself and is well prepared, while Sun is timid and tied behind his back, and his spirit has been weakened by half before fighting, so the possibility of winning the battle is of course greatly reduced.

Look at the god who comes to help at this time. They are all under orders to help. Therefore, the first task is related to the honor of heaven and must be completed. Second, it belongs to the organization of Heaven and is backed by the free aid of Heaven. Therefore, on the premise that the monster didn't make a scene in heaven, on the one hand, we should guard against taking it out on ourselves after Sun Shengda and the Jade Emperor failed, and at the same time, we also understand that even if they failed, the failure probability of the whole organization-heaven is very small-and it would be easy to invite the Tathagata Buddha to come out of the mountain again.

Therefore, every immortal who helps each other will try his best to show his magic power. As long as he did his best, Sun and Jade Emperor had no excuse to blame him. Of course, it is impossible to fight recklessly, just like in the battle against the green cow monster, the immortal does not continue to attack after losing his weapon, but sits down and waits for a more powerful fairy to help. These demons were arranged by the Tathagata to pass the test of Tang Priest, including the final fake scriptures, in order to make up for 72 hardships. Since Monkey Sun can't cope with these demons, it is inevitable to turn to Bodhisattva and even the Jade Emperor for help, which not only connects Monkey Sun's feelings with his former enemies, but also makes Monkey Sun feel dependent on them. In this way, the peaceful evolution of the Monkey King was fundamentally realized!
