Difference between river crabs and hairy crabs
I. Taste and texture
River crabs have a lighter flavor, delicate texture and delicious crab meat. Due to its smaller size, it is more troublesome to eat and requires laborious dismantling. Hairy crabs are rich in crab yolk, with a deliciously rich flavor and full, fatty crab meat.
Two, appearance and color
The river crab usually appears gray-green or light brown, with a small body size, rounded front carapace and square rear carapace. Its legs are long and thin with obvious joints, and it walks horizontally. Hairy crabs, on the other hand, present a green back and white belly, golden claws and yellow hair, and are dark green or dark yellow in color.
Three, origin and habits
River crabs are mainly distributed in China's Yangtze River Basin and Liaohe River system and other places, preferring to inhabit freshwater lakes, rivers and paddy fields. They like to move around in shallow water and are more active at night. Hairy crabs are mainly found in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai. They like to live in the deep water of rivers and lakes, often at night or early in the morning.
