Equisetum hyemale L. (scientific name: Equisetum hyemale L.), with other names: Qianfeng Grass, Filial Son Grass, Nose Grass, Nose Basin Grass, Elderberry, Ginseng, etc. Perennial evergreen herb, 30- 100 cm high. Rhizomes are short, dark brown and underground, with dark brown roots on nodes. The stem of Hypericum japonicum is erect, single or branched only at the base, 6-8 mm in diameter, hollow and jointed, with gray-green or yellow-green surface, 0-30 longitudinal ridges and grooves, and rough.

Like to be born in a cool and humid place under the hillside forest, easy to be born in river bank wetlands, streams or weeds. Location: Northeast China, North China, Inner Mongolia and Yangtze River valley.

Medicinal use is the whole grass of equisetum equisetum. Equisetum is sweet, bitter and flat.
