1, crabs are omnivores
Generally, artificial culture is based on carrion food, and some breeders will feed some dried fish and insects or water plants. Wild crabs are equivalent to free-range, in the natural environment of the weak and strong, they feed on the carcasses of fish and shrimp, water plants, snail meat, etc., and in the case of food scarcity, they will also feed on their own kind. If you are keeping them temporarily at home by yourself, you can feed a little sesame seeds and crushed eggs to the crabs so that they can grow fat in just a few days.
2, may carry bacteria
Because the crab's diet is very mixed, and still to the carrion food, the body will carry some bacteria and parasites, so we should pay attention not to eat raw crab. All aquatic products have a certain amount of histidine in their bodies, which will be decomposed into histamine after their death, and histamine is toxic, so you can't eat crabs even after they are dead.
3, crab preservation methods
(1) put the crab in a clean pot, tank, altar, brown rice to add two eggs with broken shells, and then sprinkled with two handfuls of black sesame will be submerged in the crab cover, cover the mouth of the tank with a cotton cloth, so that the air can circulate, but can not make the crab to see the sunlight, so that the raise 3 days or so to take out, due to the crab to absorb the rice, The crab absorbs the nutrients in the rice and eggs, and becomes strong and plump, and tastes fatter and more flavorful.
(2) Put the crabs in a plastic mesh bag and put them directly into the freezer. This will keep them for at least 3 to 4 days and the crabs are still very much alive.
(3) Use a basin or a bucket with a bigger bottom, put the crabs into it and add water to half the height of the crab's body, just enough to moisturize it. Then you can take something breathable to cover, usually 4 to 5 days no problem. This method needs to pay attention to two points: one is to add water can not be more, if the water is too deep, the crab will be suffocated by lack of oxygen and die. The second is that it should never be layered.
(4) Put the bundled crabs directly in the refrigerator freezer and cover with a wet towel. This will keep them for 4 to 5 days.
(5) If the number of crabs is large and you can't finish them in three to five days, you can use your home bathtub as a holding tank, fill it with water until it just barely buries the crabs and feed it a small amount of small fish and shrimp according to the storage time and quantity. This can generally survive for more than 7 days.
