How to plant strawberries
The planting method of strawberries is as follows:

1. Soil preparation: Strawberry is a shallow crop with a rooting depth of 20 cm, which requires soil water and fertilizer conservation, high organic matter content and good water permeability. In addition, strawberries are more suitable for slightly acidic soil environment. Strawberries need a lot of fertilizer, so before planting, they should be fully fertilized, with 4000 kilograms of decomposed organic fertilizer and 50 kilograms of slow-release ternary compound fertilizer with low nitrogen, medium phosphorus and high potassium per mu, and then ploughing.

2. Seedling planting: Strawberry seedlings can be purchased directly. Generally, the standard of seedling planting is about height 15 cm, without plant diseases and insect pests, with developed root system and thick fibrous roots. The planting time is from early August to mid-August. Strawberries are usually planted in two rows. Plant spacing15-20cm, row spacing 20-25cm. After planting is completed, the planting water should be watered once. This time, the amount of watering should be slightly larger, which is conducive to delaying seedlings as soon as possible.

3. Heat preservation in the shed: After more than 20 days of cultivation, new leaves grow on the seedlings, and the plants enter the rapid growth stage. When the temperature is lower than 20℃~25℃, the shed should be buckled for heat preservation. In order to prevent strawberry plants from dormancy and dwarfing, the daytime temperature can be kept at about 26℃, and the nighttime temperature can be kept at 10℃~ 12℃, but not higher than 30℃ or lower than 8℃.

4. Water and fertilizer management: strawberries need a lot of water and should be watered in time. Under normal management, water is usually poured once every 5 to 8 days, and drip irrigation is started for about 3 hours each time. We must also do a good job in fertilization management. About 30 days after planting, in order to promote the rapid development of new leaves, foliar fertilizer can be combined with water topdressing, and 20 kilograms of balanced ternary compound fertilizer can be applied per mu. About 90 days after planting, some small buds will appear on the plant. In order to ensure the amount of flowers, the second topdressing should be carried out at this time, and the fertilizer is the same as the first time.

5. Management of flowering and fruiting period: When strawberries enter flowering period, the maximum temperature in the shed should be kept at 25-27℃ by ventilation at any time. In order to avoid premature senescence caused by excessive lateral branches and buds per plant, the remaining branches and fruits can be removed in time at bud stage according to the standards of 2-3 lateral branches per plant, 3-5 branches per plant and 5- 14 branches per plant, and the prevention and control of pests and diseases and weeding work should be strengthened.
