Why did the pearl bird hatchling die in the nest?
Pearl bird hatchlings dying in the nest can be caused by the parent bird becoming frightened or the pearl bird becoming ill. Parent birds sometimes abandon their young because they are frightened, causing them to die in the nest. Additionally, periwinkles are susceptible to parasites such as mites and feather mites, which can affect the health of the young birds and cause them to die. To prevent this, bird keepers should ensure that they provide their young birds with a safe and healthy environment in which to grow, and regularly clean their cages and eating utensils and carry out measures such as mite removal.
