Maybach (German: Maybach) and Maybach-Motorenbau GmbH (German: Maybach-Motorenbau GmbH) are German ultra-luxury automobile brands and manufacturers that were once active in Europe between 1921 and 1940.

Wilhelm Maybach, the father of founder Karl Maybach, was the chief technical director of Daimler Engines (the predecessor of today's Daimler Group), and the two factories have a deep connection.

In 1997, DaimlerChrysler officially resurrected the German marque after years of obscurity by displaying a conceptual ultra-luxury four-door sedan under the Maybach name on the floor of the Tokyo Motor Show.

But the Maybach line of sedans was completely discontinued in 2013 due to poor market performance. On November 19, 2014, Mercedes-Benz officially unveiled its new sub-brand Mercedes-Maybach in Guangzhou, while the brand's first model, the Maybach S-Class, also made its official world debut.
