Through a quick online search and some comments, what I can collect is that brown owl cubs will be eaten by various carnivores, especially big owls like eagle owl (Bubobbobo). I'm not sure if any animals regularly prey on adult brown owls (maybe someone else on quora can help? ) But at least from the human point of view, we have at least some definite data that owls taste terrible.
