Tieguanyin belongs to the oolong tea category and is a representative of the oolong tea category, one of the top ten famous teas in China. It is between green tea and black tea and belongs to the semi-fermented tea category. It is one of the six major tea categories in my country: green tea, black tea, green tea (oolong tea), white tea, yellow tea, and dark tea.
There is also something special about brewing Tieguanyin. You must know how to use the tea set well. I would like to share with you the brewing method:
1. Selection of utensils
It is recommended to use a white porcelain cup set for Kung Fu tea, so that when brewing, you can not only enjoy the delicate and elegant tea aroma when brewing Tieguanyin, but also appreciate the graceful posture of the Tieguanyin leaf base stretching in the water and the crystal clear tea soup.
2. Water temperature control
It is very important to control the water temperature for brewing Tieguanyin. The appropriate water temperature is conducive to the leaching of the aroma, taste and content of Tieguanyin. .
The high-quality Tieguanyin from the high altitude tea area needs to be directly brewed with boiling water at nearly 100℃ to release the contained substances. For ordinary Tieguanyin, the water temperature can be appropriately lowered to about 95°C.
3. How much tea is needed?
How much tea is needed to brew Tieguanyin? Control the intensity according to personal taste. It is recommended to add 7~8 grams of dried Tieguanyin tea to brew it for more than 7 times. As the star product of the Tieguanyin family, Shanguo Drinking Art, Shanguo Xiang, with a net weight of 8.35g per brew, is the best choice for those who love Tieguanyin.
4. Brewing method
Before brewing, you can warm the cup with boiling water and then add 7~8g of Tieguanyin dry tea. After washing the tea in a gentle and moist manner, in order to protect the fuzz on the surface of the delicate tea leaves and prevent the tea leaves from rolling violently in the cup, water should be poured carefully along the wall of the white porcelain tureen or glass to ensure that the tea soup is clear and bright.
5. Soup time
After washing the tea warmly, slowly pour boiling water into it for the second time, and let Tieguanyin stand in the cup for about 10 seconds until the tea is poured into the cup (commonly known as "Soup out") and hold for about 25 to 30 seconds. If you need to brew more at a later stage, you can reheat the water to boiling before brewing.
6. Brewing water:
It is advisable to use high-quality mineral water or mountain spring water for brewing, preferably soft water (low mineral content). This can better stimulate the activity and fragrance of Tieguanyin.
If you want to enjoy a cup of fragrant Tieguanyin in an office without special tea sets, you first need to prepare dry Tieguanyin tea, boil an appropriate amount of water, and then follow three steps:
1. Moisten the tea:
If you want Anxi Tieguanyin to taste better in a short time, you must first moisten the tea leaves. The so-called moistening of the tea leaves means taking out the dry tea leaves and putting them into a container, and then pouring them into the container. Once the water is boiling, pour it out quickly.
2. Make tea:
After moistening the tea leaves, you can start to make the tea. Pour in the boiling water and close the lid. The first soup will be ready in 10-20 seconds. Pour it out and drink it to avoid the flavor becoming stronger as time goes by.
3. Time:
When making tea for the second time, you can extend the soaking time. Generally speaking, use this method to brew Tieguanyin, and brew 6-8 times continuously. It’s time to get new tea leaves.
