Laughing at the sky and going out, what do we mean by Artemisia people?
The vernacular means "I walked out the door laughing on my back, how can I be a person who has been in the wild for a long time?" It comes from Li Bai's "Nanling Bie Children Enter Beijing" in the Tang Dynasty. Artemisia is a wild herb. Here, people who are not officials are compared to Artemisia, that is, people in the wild, and you can imagine their smug expression; Shows a very conceited psychology.

Creation background

Li Bai is known for his lofty ambition. He is determined to "apply Guan Yan's words, seek the skills of emperors, and strive for their wisdom. He is willing to help the atlas area to be settled and the sea county to be clear" ("Dai Shoushan answers Meng Shaofu's transfer document"), but it has not been realized for a long time.

In the first year of Tianbao (742), Li Bai was 42 years old. At this time, he got a letter from Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty calling him into Beijing. He was so excited that he thought it was time to realize his political ideal. He immediately returned to his home in Nanling, bid farewell to his children, and wrote this passionate seven-character ancient poem, which made no secret of his joy.
