Methods to prevent garlic from sprouting:
1. Put the garlic into an empty bottle or jar with a sealed lid, which can prevent moisture and reduce the storage environment during normal times. The oxygen concentration in the plant increases the carbon dioxide concentration and inhibits the germination of garlic.
2. Low temperature can inhibit the germination of garlic. Therefore, garlic can be stored in the refrigerator compartment. This is a method used by many families to prevent germination. Note that garlic should not be stored below zero, nor should it be frozen, as this may easily lead to nutritional loss of the garlic.
3. High temperature can also inhibit the germination of garlic. If you have a microwave oven at home, heat the garlic in the microwave for about one minute, depending on the specific parameters of each microwave oven. Heat until the garlic is slightly hot to the touch. Don't overheat, otherwise the garlic will be completely roasted and you won't be able to eat it all at once. If you are not sure, you can test it with a garlic clove first to determine the appropriate time. Garlic treated with such high temperature can be placed randomly without germination. Of course, it cannot be thrown in a humid place.
