The source of medicinal materials: the whole grass with rhizome of Begonia vitifoliata of Begonia family.
Latin plant animal mineral name: Begonia? edulis? Levl.
Harvesting and storage: digging in summer and autumn, washing, drying or fresh use.
Original form perennial succulent herb, up to 40cm high. With tubers, fibrous roots, stems as high as 12cm, branches and total pedicels with longitudinal grooves and warty spots. Leaves opposite; Petiole length15-20 cm; Leaf blade is nearly round, length and width 12- 15cm, apex obtuse, 5-9 lobed to one-third of the depth of the leaf, lobes broad triangular, acuminate, heart-shaped at the base, nearly symmetrical, dark green on the top, green on the bottom, hairless on both sides, and serrate on the edge. 2. A dichotomous cyme, in which the total pedicel is born from the axil of the opposite leaf at the lower part, and sometimes from the axil of the second opposite leaf at the upper part (in this case, the 1 leaf becomes an inflorescence), with 4 flowers and red color. The capsule is nearly spherical with 3 wings, of which 1 wing is larger, about 1cm long, twice as wide, with obvious longitudinal veins and obtuse apex.
