Special event planning

Drifters adult campers (18 years old or older) can sign up for the one-week Harnas Wildlife Foundation global animal volunteer activity after the truck cross-country experience camp.

Activity background

Dear friends, welcome to experience with Drifters in Hanas, Namibia. This is about love and escape. It is about sharing and studying such a unique spectacle of Hanas and exploring the unparalleled glory in that wildness! ?

Hanas Wildlife Foundation is a window of harmony and unity between man and nature. We can plan, we can calculate, we can rely on experience, but no matter how skilled we are in the current environment, we will never know what will happen next.

Nature has a way to tell us that the universe is really big, and the essence of Hanas is to always expect the unexpected!

Protecting and caring about our respect is our dream! We invite you to share, respect, care and love our dreams, because you are also a part of them.

What animal will I cooperate with?

Hanas is a haven for all kinds of animals, from wild cats to domestic animals, such as cows and horses.

Although the degree of contact with different animals is different, we provide a common home for these animals: mongoose, wild dogs, brown hyenas, cheetahs, leopards, lions, baboons, black-tailed monkeys, warthogs, vultures, hideous badgers, horses, sheep, cows, cats and dogs.

Please understand that we have some guidelines on animal interaction to protect our animals and your safety.

You will work with many animals, including baboons.

However, for your safety, you will not work directly with leopards and lions, although you have the opportunity to have contact with them through feeding time.

Where do I pay for it? What did I pay and what was included?

The Harnas animal volunteer project fee is included in your course fee:

5 nights in Harnas camp (multi-person dormitory) and 1 night in Windhoek hotel.

Drinking water is used for three meals a day in Harnas camp (tap water in Harnas is safe to drink).

Transportation service to and from Hanas farm in Windhoek assembly area

·? Weekly laundry service

·? Cabin cleaning service, sheets and towels

Namibia visa application fee and visa processing assistance, as well as protection work donated to Hanas.

All the money you paid to Hanas goes directly back to the operation of the Foundation. It is no small task to provide food, care and infrastructure for animals to support our animals.

Simply feeding our large carnivores the meat they need costs about 1600 USD per week.

Please rest assured that the fees received by Hanas exceed the cost of volunteers' stay and will be put to good use. Once you arrive, you will see how these donations are used.
