Trolling means dragging the bait in the water so that the fish will bite the hook when they find live bait. Trolling is generally used to catch crucian carp. The bait is mostly earthworms, red worms, maggots and shrimps, but they must be alive.
Trolling generally uses long poles, and medium and long lines can also be used. Short lines can also be used. The trick to trolling is in the drag. There are four methods of towing:
(1) Tow to the bottom and throw the hook bait to the farthest point with a pole. After it falls to the bottom, take it back to adjust the height of the buoy. After several water tests, the tip of the buoy is Just level it with the water, then gently move the rod tip to drag the hook bait. The direction of movement can be either horizontal or vertical. The horizontal direction is actually an arc, which can be from left to right, or from right to left, or in a circular motion; dragging vertically means gradually pulling the hook bait toward the fisherman. At this time, since the water near the shore is generally shallow, the tip of the buoy will be exposed a lot out of the water. You should stop in time, otherwise the buoy will lie flat on the water and it will be difficult to detect the fish biting the hook. Bottom trolling is all about catching bottom fish. The dragging speed should not be too fast. If a fish finds it in the middle, it will bite the hook, and the tip of the mark will reflect it in time. The fisherman needs to stop dragging immediately, let the fish eat the hook bait into its mouth, and lift the rod in time according to the mark.
(2) Half-water tow If the fish has floated up and is not at the bottom of the water, you can only fish for floating or half-water fishing. At this time, you can use half-water tow. That is, after throwing the hook bait into the water far away, move the rod tip in time to prevent the hook bait from sinking to the bottom of the water, and drag to watch the bait move in a semi-floating state. If the bait sinks halfway, lift the rod upward to restore it to its original shape. However, it is better to change to a larger buoy so that the hook bait cannot fall to the bottom, and to change the level of trolling by moving the buoy up and down. In the middle, if there is a fish biting the hook, the tip of the mark will reflect it and even feel it. When fishing for buckwheat, you need to stop dragging immediately, let the fish bite the hook firmly, and then lift the rod.
(3) The combination of dragging and teasing means using the fishing teasing method when dragging to the bottom, dragging, stopping, and shaking the hook bait up and down to tease. Combining flat drag and three-dimensional teasing, this method can be used in places where there are many fish, especially where there are fish stars.
(4) Fan trolling means taking the angler’s positioning point as the center of the circle, drawing an arc with the rod line length as the radius, and then removing a small area near the shore to form a fan water area. In this water area, fishing The operator trolls with a line from left to right, from center to left or vertically in order until the fan is completely fished, which is like what is often called a carpet search nowadays.
