Pumpkin Festival crafts include traditional pumpkin lanterns.
Preparation method: Choose a beautiful pumpkin (orange is also acceptable), wash it and wipe off the water stains on the surface. Print the pattern to be carved on the paper and prepare it; cut off the top circle of the pumpkin to make the cover, scoop out the pumpkin flesh, and clean the inner wall.
Then cut the pattern, stick it on the pumpkin at the appropriate position with transparent tape, and use a toothpick to poke holes along the pattern. It will be easier to carve if you pierce it thoroughly. Punch it every 3 mm to serve as a sketch for carving.
Carve carefully according to the toothpick sketch, pay attention to where it is connected to the remaining pumpkin, and do not cut it into a big hole. First the outline and then the details, first the middle and then the surrounding areas. When finished, use a carving knife to lightly draw branches and other patterns around it.
Keep the dug-out part of the pumpkin as intact as possible, cut it into a castle shape with a carving knife, and secure the bottom with toothpicks.
Finally, put the candle inside the pumpkin lantern. The candle can be placed in a small plate and then placed inside the pumpkin. Fix the small piece of castle in front of the candle, and attach a small bat cut from black paper to the outside of the pumpkin.
