What is Bai Kouren?

White Kouen Kernel is an aromatic dampness-reducing medicine in traditional Chinese medicine.

It is the seed of Amomum Cardamomnm L., a perennial herbaceous plant of the Zingiberaceae family. The peel and flowers are also used medicinally. Mainly produced in Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar and other places. It is also cultivated in Yunnan, Guangdong, Guangxi and other provinces and regions in my country. The fruits are picked in autumn when they are ripe, the branches and stems are removed, and they are dried or smoked with sulfur. When used, remove the peel or break it into pieces with the skin intact.

The medicinal names are white cardamom, white cardamom kernel, purple cardamom and white cardamom.

The nature and flavor are pungent and warm in the meridians. Returns to lung, spleen, stomach meridians.

The medicinal effects are to remove dampness, promote qi, warm the body and stop vomiting.

Main treatment

1. Promoting Qi and transforming dampness: used for

(1) Dampness blocking the middle burner, spleen and stomach Qi stagnation, chest tightness, epigastrium, less food Vomit.

(2) Disharmony between the spleen and stomach, diarrhea and dysentery.

(3) Exogenous dampness and warmth appear at the beginning, dampness is heavier than heat, body heat is not rising, chest tightness is not hungry.

2. Warming to stop vomiting: used for all kinds of vomiting

(1) It is especially suitable for those with cold symptoms.

(2) People with gas separation between the spleen and stomach, unable to eat, and vomiting after eating.

In addition, it can warm the heart and dispel cold, relieve stomach cold and hiccups, grind it into powder with cloves and take it.

If you take peach kernel decoction, it can treat postpartum hiccups.

Usage and dosage. When adding the decoction, it is advisable to break it into small pieces before dispensing.

Oral decoction, 3--6 grams.

Notes: Because of its pungent aroma and warm dryness, it is contraindicated for those with yin deficiency and blood dryness.
