Even though it's cold in Japan as winter approaches, there's something to be happy about because strawberry season is here! Cafes and supermarkets are full of strawberry products, which makes me, as a strawberry lover, so excited that I must seize the opportunity to eat them all! Even if you miss the strawberry season when you visit Japan, there are stores where you can enjoy strawberry desserts all year round!
1. More strawberries than cake - Gomokuen リーベル
Is the usual strawberry cake with just a few slices of strawberries not enough for you? Then you must try its strawberry cake at Fruity Garden! It's actually a fruit dessert store with branches in Meguro, Tokyo Station and Shinjuku. Tokyo Station is always full while the Meguro branch is less crowded, so if you don't want to wait in line, go to Meguro! In addition to cakes, there are also muffins, baklava and fruit sandwiches, each with tons of great fruit.
Fruit Garden Meguro
The strawberry cake here is made in the Italian dome cake style, with whipped cream and strawberries in the center of the two sponge cakes, and the strawberries are said to be freshly purchased every day, so a slice of the cake uses 15-18 strawberries, which is more than the usual boundaries of a strawberry cake! Both the cake and the whipped cream are a little sweet, but the slightly tart strawberries are just the right amount of sweetness! Although it's expensive at 1,800 yen a piece, this cake will definitely satisfy your strawberry cravings if you want to splurge once in a while.
If you don't love strawberries that much, you can also go for the Mixed Fruit Cake, which is only 980 yen and uses a lot of strawberries! You can also enjoy mango and kiwi fruit!
The fruit cake has a lot of strawberries too!

2.
Another must-see strawberry dessert in Japan is the strawberry sundae! If you want to enjoy the best sundae in the best environment, then you must go to Shiseido パーラー in Ginza! This historic cafe is located in Ginza, and the red building looks so grand. Once you enter, there's a store selling sweets, and you have to wait in line for the clerk to make arrangements before going up to the 3rd floor. On weekday afternoons, you have to wait for about 15 minutes, and most of the people in the store are Japanese wives with a lot of dignity.
The dessert menu is varied, including sundaes, cakes, and French toast. It just happened to run a strawberry event in January, upgrading the original 1,730 yen strawberry sundae to a select variety of strawberries (Kagawa-produced sakuraki hime / Fukuoka-produced four-star), priced at 1,890 yen. The top-of-the-line Gifu-produced Mino Nyonya Strawberry Sundae is even 3,240 yen! You can also add 570 yen for a cup of black tea or coffee.
It was a rare chance, so I ordered the Fukuoka 4-star. When the strawberry sundae was served, I could feel it glistening. Starting from the lowest layer is strawberry jam, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, strawberry ice cream and strawberry pulp.
The strawberries were eaten in one bite first, just the right amount of tartness and juiciness, worthy of a name brand strawberry! The strawberry ice cream is rich in flavor but sour, and you can taste the strawberry juice flavor, which is totally different from the market. The sweet and creamy whipped cream and vanilla ice cream are the perfect finishing touches. Each ingredient in the sundae is delicious on its own, but together, it's the perfect combination.

3. Strawberry Daifuku - Edo Usagi
3. p> When it comes to Japanese strawberry desserts, strawberry daifuku is the first thing that comes to mind! Many wagashi stores offer Strawberry Daifuku, but this one stands out because it's so cute and the goddess Satomi Ishihara was photographed with it in a Tokyo Metro commercial! This Edo Usagi in Nippori is a fruit daifuku specialty store that offers strawberry, mandarin orange, grape, and even tomato daifuku. Each Daifuku is made with sesame seeds and eyes, and the fruit is made to look like a tongue, which is so funny that it is also called "Monster Daifuku". Strawberry Daifuku comes in two flavors, one with milk filling (ミルクあん) and the other with red bean filling (こしあん). I chose the special milk filling, which is made by adding condensed milk to the white bean filling so it has a sweet milk flavor that goes well with the slightly sour strawberries. The Daifuku is soft and will not dry out after a whole day. The only thing I regret is that the strawberries are small and you have to put them in front of you, so halfway through the meal, it turns into a regular milk Daifuku (fortunately, it tastes good too). Although 260 yen for such a small Daifuku is a bit expensive, the taste and appearance are very good, so it's no wonder that many people come to buy it every day. Ginza's "re:Dine GINZA" restaurant has teamed up with Harajuku's IG favorite ice cream specialty store "coisof" to upgrade its dreamy ice cream to the elegant Parkway Ice Cream! Harajuku's desserts are full of ***, dreamy looks, but now they've been transformed into desserts in Ginza's fine restaurants? re:Dine Ginza offers three flavors of ice cream desserts, and the must-try for strawberry lovers is the Hokkaido Milk Strawberry Coi Parkway. Made with rich milk from Hokkaido and sweet and sour fresh strawberries, the strawberry flavor is so rich that your eyes will light up as you eat it, and every bite is filled with the solid and thick flavor of strawberries. A cherry liqueur sauce is also included to add depth of flavor, transforming the strawberry ice cream loved by teenage girls into a texture full of adult flavors. Incidentally, re:Dine Ginza is the talk-of-the-town "Japan's First Election Restaurant". There are five chefs with their own specialties, and the lowest rated chef is voted out after three months, making it a real-life version of Iron Man. In addition to the strawberry desserts mentioned above, there are also French and Italian cuisine, as well as more affordable Wagyu ramen, all of which are worth trying! A voting system determines whether a chef lives or dies. Year-round strawberry specialties - Ichibeko Ichibeko is a strawberry dessert specialty store with stores in Sangenjaya and Sakura-shinmachi. Ichibeko is a strawberry dessert specialty shop with stores in Sangenjaya and Sakura-shinmachi, and is now very popular among young people in Japan. Store 2 in Sangenjaya is a small store with a simple and stylish décor. They offer a wide range of desserts, including puddings, cakes, and shaved ice... From drinks to desserts, each one is topped with strawberries, and there's also strawberry jam toast for breakfast, so you can enjoy strawberries all day long! The Miyagi strawberries "ミガキイチゴ" used here are known as "edible jewels". I ordered the strawberry cake and strawberry milk shaved ice, and the strawberry cake was so thick with jam that even I, as a strawberry person, thought it was too thick! The strawberry milk shaved ice with sweet milk flavor is light and fine, and the sour taste of strawberry is very refreshing, which is soothing in the hot summer, no wonder it's the hottest dessert in the store! FRENCH POUND HOUSE Right in the plain residential area of Nestor Duck, there is an elegant and somewhat classical atmosphere of the cake store, attracting Japanese wives and young girls to enjoy afternoon tea. There are more than ten tables inside the store, or you can choose to enjoy a seat outside the store and feel the tranquility of a Japanese residential street. The cake store offers many flavors of cake, but the most famous is the strawberry cake, even won the title of "Japan's first". French Pound House's strawberry cake is the best in Japan. The strawberry cake comes in two flavors: alcoholic and non-alcoholic. It looks like a simple sponge cake with whipped cream and strawberries, but the taste is much better than what you can find on the market! I ordered the Alcoholic flavor, and each slice of the cake was coated with a thin layer of jam, and the alcoholic strawberry jam had a very strong flavor, combined with the sweet whipped cream and tart strawberries, to achieve a good balance of sweetness, and not overly sweet, and it is a mature flavor suitable for grown-ups to enjoy! This TOKYO STRAWBERRY PARK, operated by Tokyo Electric Power, has strawberries all year round and many different varieties because the greenhouses are thoroughly managed for temperature and humidity. It costs 2,000 to 2,980 yen for adults and 1,500 to 2,480 yen for children, and you need to make a reservation online if you want to participate.
