Liu Yuxi
The mountain is not high, and the fairy is the name; The water is not deep, and the dragon is the spirit. I am a humble room, but I am virtuous. The steps on the terrace are green, the grass is green in the curtain, and there are scholars who talk and laugh, but there is no Bai Ding between us. You can tune the lute and read the golden classics; There are no confused ears of silk and bamboo, no complicated work, Zhuge Lu in Nanyang and Yunting Pavilion in Xishuzi. Kong Ziyun: "What's wrong!"
Liu Yuxi was a writer in the middle Tang Dynasty and a political figure. As a writer, in his ideological character, the noble sentiments of the ancient intellectuals in China, who were totally self-absorbed and narcissistic, and the aloof character of Geng Jie, who refused to flatter the powerful. This essay reflects his ideological style of living in a humble room, being noble in character and not colluding with the secular world.
The first four sentences, with vivid metaphors, show that the mountain is famous not for its height, but for its immortals; The spirit of water is not in its depth but in its dragon; A humble house is also a beautiful place to live because of the good virtue of its owner. In other words, there is a fairy in the mountain, a dragon in the water, and a fragrance in the house. In this way, the analogy subtly highlights the ideological implication that the humble room is not humble, and that virtue is important. Next, write about the scenery and characters of the humble room. Moss marks in front of the door, grass color outside the window, one is green along the steps, and the other is blue in the curtain. In the quiet and quiet scenery displayed by the moss marks and grass colors, the vagrants are not mediocre people, so it is said that the people who talk and laugh are all scholars and knowledgeable people, but ignorant people, which further points out that the humble room is not ugly. Here, you can live in peace and contentment, play the piano and read the classics at will. From this point of view, the humble room is even more ugly, so he wrote with a striking pen: "Where a gentleman lives, why is it ugly!" Confucius said so, the author said so, lived so, and looked so. The author's ideological character is fully expressed here. As a realm of life, it has been recognized by honest and frank scholars in later generations, and it has been passed down to this day.
The inscription * * * is 81 words, which is extremely short, but it is very vivid in describing scenery, people and things. "The moss marks are green on the upper steps, and the grass color is green in the curtain", which describes the scenery of a moss and a grass, but the beauty of the room is hidden in it, with endless charm. "Laughing and laughing with a scholar, no Bai Ding" is to borrow someone to write a room, and to see it as noble and elegant with "a scholar" and "no Bai Ding". "You can tune the lute and read the Golden Classics, and there is no confusion in the ears of the silk and bamboo, and there is no cumbersome form." It is to write things, and the "can" is second, and the "no" is also second. Compared with the two, living in a humble room is indifferent and far from the secular. "Zhuge Lu in Nanyang, Yunting Pavilion in West Shu" is an example of Zhuge Liang's seclusion in Nanyang and Yang Xiong's Xuanting in Chengdu, pointing out that although he lives in a humble room, he is noble and noble, and he does not want to be greedy. Every word of the full text is written in a humble room, which can be described as subtle, without branches and vines, with short words and deep meaning, short words and long feelings. And use even sentences, pay attention to rhythm, and be rich in musical beauty.
Liu Zongyuan once commented on Liu Yuxi's article and said: "Wen Juan is creamy, and the taste is endless and the more it is baked." (quoted by Liu Yuxi's "Jude's son is suitable for the more commandments"), after reading this article, you will know that sincerity is the most important.
