About Cowherd and Weaving Maiden, the astronomical starry sky area corresponds to the geographical area on the ground, the written records can be found in the literature of the Han Dynasty, "Han Shu - Geography Zhi": "Guangdong (Yue), Altair (Cowherd), wu female (Weaving Maiden) of the division of the field also, now Cangwu, Ulin, Hepu, Jiao Toe, Jiuzhen, South China Sea, Risunan are all Guangdong points also". Literature records the cowherd weaving star area corresponds to the Lingnan geographical division of the field.

The "Tanabata" festival is traditionally known as the Birthday of the Seven Sisters, so named because it is celebrated on the seventh day of the seventh month, Kusatsu. Worshipping the Seven Sisters, praying for blessings and making wishes, begging for skillful art, sitting and watching the star of Altair and Vega, praying for marriage, and storing water for Tanabata are all traditional customs of Tanabata.

Through the development of history, Tanabata was given the beautiful love legend of "Cowherd and Weaving Maiden", and because it was given the connotation related to love, it became a festival symbolizing love, which is considered the most romantic traditional festival in China, and in the contemporary era, it is the cultural meaning of "China's Valentine's Day". In contemporary times, it has the cultural meaning of "Chinese Valentine's Day".
