Symptoms: body heat, foul smell in the lower abdomen, dysphoria in the chest, dry mouth and thirst, panting and sweating, red tongue with yellow coating, and rapid pulse. Treatment: clearing damp-heat in large intestine and detoxifying. Main prescription: Gegen Qinlian decoction. Prescriptions: Radix Puerariae, Scutellariae Radix, Coptidis Rhizoma, Glycyrrhrizae Radix, Flos Lonicerae, Poria, Caulis Akebiae, and Semen Plantaginis.
2. Bladder damp heat (initial stage)
Symptoms: frequent micturition and urgency, astringent pain when drowning, unsmooth dripping, muddy urine color, and even strangulation, abdominal fullness, dry mouth and throat, yellow and greasy tongue coating, and slippery pulse. Treatment: clearing heat and promoting diuresis. Main prescription: Bazhengsan addition and subtraction. Prescriptions: Polygonum aviculare, Zhaimai, Akebia Akebia, Plantago Seed, Talcum, Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, Fructus Gardeniae and Radix Glycyrrhizae.
If constipation and abdominal distension occur, rhubarb can be reused, and Fructus Aurantii Immaturus can be added if necessary, so as to clear the fu-organs and relieve heat. If the damp-heat injures yin, rhubarb should be removed, and Radix Rehmanniae, Rhizoma Anemarrhenae and Rhizoma Imperatae should be added to nourish yin and clear heat.
3. Uterine damp-heat
Symptoms: headache, red eyes, hypochondriac pain, bitter taste, damp-heat leukorrhagia, or wet sores on the lower part, yin swelling and itching, muscle weakness and yin sweating, short yellow urine or turbid urine, yellow and greasy tongue coating. Treatment: clearing heat and eliminating dampness. Main prescription: Ermiao powder combined with Longdan Xiegan decoction.
