Generally, when the plant height reaches about 1.6m, and the main vine has 13- 15 leaves, it begins to top and core. In the later stage, every three leaves are reserved for coring 1 melon position, so the sprouting speed of the branches after coring is slow, and the main vines will become stout due to sufficient nutrient accumulation.

When the vines of loofah grow to 30cm, bamboo poles should be inserted near the roots to build herringbone brackets.
