Interpretation:? Early maturity of japonica rice.
Brief introduction of indica rice:
Indica rice is a subspecies of cultivated rice, with a height of about 100 cm, light green leaves, a flag leaf length of 37.4 cm and a width of 1.7 cm, and a moderate plant type. The ear length is 20 cm, the number of grains per ear is about 120, the seed setting rate is above 80%, the ear forming rate is above 80%, the average 1000-grain weight is 25.6 grams, the grains are long and narrow, the glume tip is colorless, and there are short awns.
The rice grains are white and bright, with milled rice rate of about 70%, brown rice rate of 80%, chalky grain rate of less than 30%, amylose content 15.42%, protein content of 8.2% and lysine content of 0.30%. The cavity is thick and soft, the food is unknown, and the product is firm.
Morphological characteristics of indica rice;
Indica rice is generally above 1m in plant height, with soft stems, wide leaves, light green color and small flag leaf opening. The leaves are hairy, with short hairs and scattered Yu Ying shells. Most of them are awnless or short, and the lines are slender and slightly flat, and the length is generally more than twice the width. Grains fall off easily. More resistant to humidity, high temperature and strong light, but not cold. The content of amylose in rice grains is high and the gel consistency is hard, so the cooked rice is not sticky.
Indica rice and japonica rice can also be hybridized to obtain hybrids, but the seed setting rate of the first generation of hybrids is low. Many characters of indica rice are closer to common wild rice than japonica rice, so indica rice is considered as the basic type, while japonica rice is the variant type.
