Great Expectations is a legendary drama produced by Mango Film, Xiangshan Wukong Film and Chengya Film, with Chen Sicheng as producer and chief screenwriter, directed by Xie Ze and Xitai Chen, and starring Chen Sicheng, Tong Liya, Justin, Guo Caijie, Zhao Lixin, Dahong Ni and Liu Yijun.

Based on the "magic capital" of Shanghai in the 1920s, the play tells the story that Hong Sanyuan first came to Shanghai to pursue his great future, met a group of aspiring young people who wanted to change the turbulent and unfair situation in the old days, and planned the great future of the country together for the change of the nation and destiny.

Synopsis:

Hong Sanyuan (Chen Sicheng) and his mother and friend Qi Lin (Justin) went to Shanghai to go to Yan Hua (Fu Dalong) and got involved in the power struggle between the two companies. Yan Hua was a docker at this time, and he was elected as a worker leader without fear of power. Hong Sanyuan saved the day in the dangerous Shanghai beach for many times with his wit.

Hong Sanyuan became sworn brothers with Shen Da, a loyal and righteous man, and Lin Yiyi (Tong Liya), who came to Shanghai to avenge his father, became enemies in the battle of wits. Lin Yiyi, a disguised man, fell in love with Hong Sanyuan. Hong Sanyuan approaches a rich girl, Yu Mengzhu (Guo Caijie), and Yu Mengzhu falls in love with Hong Sanyuan.
