The liver is mainly located in the right rib and upper abdomen. Most of the liver is covered by the rib arch, only exposed between the upper abdominal region and the right rib arch and directly contacting the anterior abdominal wall, while the upper part of the liver is connected with the diaphragm and the anterior abdominal wall. The location of liver pain is located in the right rib quarter, which is also the location of liver surface reflection area. Pain in the liver region is due to the distribution of many visceral nerve receptors in the liver and bile tissues, and the liver is inflamed or stimulated by various external factors-forming impulses-introducing them into the brain-resulting in pain in the liver region.
