5S is SEIRI (organize), SEITON (tidy up), SEISO (clean), SEIKETSU (clean), SHITSUKE (literacy). Because of its five contents of the Japanese Romanized Pinyin all to "S" at the beginning, so called 5S.

In fact, 5S originated from a Japanese way of disposal of household chores, in the Japanese people have been passed down for 200 years of history. The first two S's were: organizing and tidying up, mainly for "things" to be sorted and placed properly.

After World War II, Toyota introduced the concept into its internal management operations, and due to the increased demand and standard of corporate management, it added another 3 S's, resulting in the 5S activities that are widely practiced today. And quickly applied by various industries, is the most simple, the most basic, the most important, the most effective site management methods. The production sites of Japanese companies are famous for their cleanliness, orderliness and efficiency, all thanks to the widespread adoption of this excellent management method by Japanese companies.  

In China's Hong Kong, Taiwan 5S is figuratively called "five often method": often organization, often rectification, often clean, often standardized and often self-discipline. In Hong Kong, 5S is widely used in government agencies, factories, hospitals, all walks of life, especially in the service industry, such as large restaurants, fast food chains, hotels, supermarkets, libraries and so on.  

In China's mainland, the Haier Group's "6S big footprint" is also a household name. But the implementation of 5S management of the majority of manufacturing industry enterprises, service industry enterprises are very few, catering enterprises are only a few. With the catering enterprises quality awareness, safety awareness, brand awareness continues to increase, I believe that 5S will be more catering enterprises to pay attention to and use.

5S in the catering industry:

1, often organization

The senior leadership should pay attention to the people, money and materials to give strong support to the establishment of a perfect organization to promote the agency to develop a sound implementation plan and time schedule, repeatedly emphasize the implementation of five often on the growth of life and the hotel management to bring the benefits of the staff's recognition and commitment to make it active and positive!
