Electronic visa application form (online electronic English DS- 156 visa application form)
The US Embassy in Beijing is pleased to announce the launch of an electronic visa application form (DS- 156 only) to save time for applicants and visa office staff. The online electronic application form contains a bar code, which will enable us to transmit information electronically, thus reducing the waiting time of applicants in the visa application process.
When you fill out this form online, please print out the application form and submit it on the day of the visa interview. Please submit the printed original application form, including the last page with barcode, and its copy or fax will not be accepted. In addition, please don't fold the printed form.
There are some computer system requirements for using the new online visa application form:
Your Internet browser must support 128-bit decoding. If Internet Explorer is used as an Internet browser, the minimum version must be version 5.0 (including service pack 2). If you use Netscape as an Internet browser, the minimum version must be version 6.2.
Adobe Acrobat Reader software must be installed on your computer to download and print the complete online application form. The minimum version supported by this website is version 5.0. If your computer does not have Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or higher installed, please download the software from the Adobe website.
You must use an inkjet or laser printer to print the completed form.
Please note: due to the different speed of computer access, you may have to wait a few minutes when downloading blank forms and generating filled-out forms. Please be patient. If your computer system can't meet these requirements, you can consider the computer configuration to meet the above requirements, and fill out the form in Internet cafes or other places.
