Crush the vanilla shortcake and put half a tablespoon shortcake in each small paper cup.
Mix cream cheese, sugar, eggs and vanilla extract with an electric mixer; Pour the mixture into the paper cup, almost to the mouth of the cup.
Bake in the oven at175 c 15 minutes. Remove and cool, and spread a teaspoon of cherry pie filling (or any other fruit flavor) on the muffin.
