Basic information of skiing
Skiing is a competitive sport. Athletes put their skis under their boots and accelerate, jump and slide in the snow. Snowboards are made of wood, metal and plastic. Alpine skiing includes downhill, slalom and slalom. The alpine skiing mixed event consists of the above three events.
People slide on the snow in a standing position, with ski pole in their hands and skis on their feet. Standing, snowboarding, snow and skiing are the key elements of skiing. With the development of skiing today, there are more and more events and wider fields. The regular events of world competitions are divided into alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, freestyle skiing, biathlon skiing and snowboarding.
Skiing originated in Scandinavian countries. Turning is also Norwegian, which means sliding on a sloping road. The International Ski Federation was founded in 1924. Nordic skiing was included in the first Winter Olympic Games held in Chamonix in 1924.
