The Ming Tombs are the tombs of the Ming emperors in China, located at Tianshou Mountain at the foot of Yanshan Mountain in Changping District, northwest suburb of Beijing. Total area 120 square kilometers, about 50 kilometers away from Beijing. From the establishment of Changling Mausoleum in May of the seventh year of Yongle to the burial of the last emperor of Ming Dynasty, Chongzhen in Siling Mausoleum, in more than 230 years, thirteen imperial tombs, seven tombs of concubines and one tomb of eunuchs were built successively. Thirteen imperial tombs were built along the mountain, located at the foothills of the east, west and north respectively, forming a mausoleum complex with complete system, grand scale and magnificent momentum. Warlocks in the Ming Dynasty believed that it was a "Feng Shui" resort and an excellent "auspicious land". Therefore, it was chosen as the "eternal life domain" for the construction of the imperial tomb by the Ming Dynasty. The Ming Tombs are: Changling (Chengzu), Xianling (Renzong), Jingling (Xuanzong), Yuling (Yingzong), Maoling (Xianzong), Tailing (Xiaozong), Kangling (Wuzong), Yongling (Sejong), Zhaoling (Mu Zong) and Dingling (Zongshen). The scenic spots that have been opened are Changling, Dingling, Zhaoling and Lu Shen.
