How to feed bees with high-quality feed in autumn?
It's autumn in a blink of an eye. Many new beekeepers know the importance of feeding bees in autumn to help them survive the winter, but they don't know how much wintering feed to prepare for bees. Many beekeepers often ask this question recently. In fact, the length of winter varies all over the country, so it is impossible to say that there is a unified data, but we can prepare overwintering feed for bees by calculating their food intake. How to do it specifically? Please look down.

Regarding the preparation of overwintering feed, honey can be used if there is preserves. If not, feed sugar water instead of honey in autumn, and be sure to feed enough before wintering, which is the guarantee for bees to overwinter safely.

As for the question of how much feed to prepare, many materials say that how much wintering feed to prepare for bees depends on different regions such as northern and southern China. In fact, the bee tribe does not recommend this method, because the climate in each area changes greatly. For example, in Guizhou, the winter in Bijie area near the north is longer, while there is almost no winter in southwest Guizhou. Obviously, we can't take Guizhou as the standard. For mountainous areas, this phenomenon should exist in many places, which means that there are many climatic conditions in a province. So how can we find a feed storage method suitable for various places? That is, choose time and bee food intake as reference.

Although time and the amount of food eaten by bees can be used as a reference, we still have to rule out the influence of one factor, that is, the influence of strong and weak groups. So besides the length of winter and the amount of bees' food, we should also consider the number of bees, so that we can accurately calculate the wintering feed by the number of bees in one frame here, so that no matter where the bees are, it is easy for us to know how much feed we should prepare.

The calculation method of bee population has been introduced by the bee tribe in the last article, so I won't repeat it here. Simply put, the number of a bee is about 3000, and a bee can eat about 0.4 kg of honey a month. But for overwintering, we would rather prepare more overwintering feed for bees to avoid accidents, so we suggest that a frame of bees can prepare 0.7 kg of overwintering feed, which is what we often say, and finally tell you one. Here the bee tribe gives you a simple example.

For example, if we have a bee colony with 8 spleens to overwinter for 4 months, then the honey we want to prepare for this bee colony is 0.7 times 4 times 8, which should be 22.4 kg. Then, if it is an 8-cell bee colony that overwinters for 4 months, we should prepare at least 4.5 spleens of sugar for this bee colony.

Well, that's a little experience about how much wintering feed bees should prepare for wintering. As for honey, if there is not enough sugar spleen prepared in the late autumn honey flow period, you can feed a lot of white sugar water after autumn breeding to let bees store honey spleen, and the standard is subject to sealing. The above methods are only for friends in need to communicate and discuss. Please correct me if there is anything wrong.
