Yizhang County has jurisdiction over the township. It belonged to Chishi Township in 1949, and Chishi District was established in 1950. It was changed to a township in 1956, to a commune in 1958, and to a township in 1984. Altitude: 271 meters.
It is located in the northeast of the county, bordering Guangdong in the south, and 27 kilometers away from the county seat. It covers an area of ??66.3 square kilometers and has a population of 17,000. The township government is located in Sanwangping. Provincial Highway 1803 passes here.
It governs the 14 village committees of Chishi, Liping, Caotian, Baishui, Xialian, Pingguang, Xiaou, Guangjiang, Baiqing, Sanhe, Wusi, Yuxi, Tangbei and Changchengling and Akaishi Neighborhood Committee. Township enterprises include hydropower stations, antimony mines, coal mines and kaolin mines.
