Lin Xichun, a scholar in Ming Dynasty and left assistant minister of the household department, wrote a poem about the current situation of Chaozhou cuisine. The poem reads: "It is popular today. Fayun must come from Wu Zhe, and every food comes from the ocean. Sheep gold with Qin Sanbao clothes, with Wan Li rose crown. How can a brown skirt be out of date? It's a shame to have short sleeves and big toes. " By the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, Chaozhou cuisine had entered its heyday, with many famous shops, teachers and dishes in Chaozhou.

In modern times, due to the communication between overseas Chinese and Chaozhou people, Chaozhou cuisine has absorbed the essence of famous food at home and abroad, and the dishes are more colorful and the quality is also improving. Today, Chaozhou cuisine has developed into one of the famous dishes in China with unique Lingnan cultural characteristics. It occupies an important position in the cooking culture of China and even the world.
