Not on the same day, but the Cold Food Festival has been integrated into Tomb-Sweeping Day.

First, cold food

Cold Food Festival is a traditional festival in ancient China, which usually takes place from winter to the day after 105 and two days before Tomb-Sweeping Day. The ancients attached great importance to this festival. According to the custom, every family banned fire and only ate ready-made food, hence the name cold food. This year's cold food is April 4th, the day before Tomb-Sweeping Day.

Second, Qingming

Qingming is an ancient festival of the Chinese nation. It is not only a solemn festival to sweep graves and worship ancestors, but also a happy festival for people to get close to nature, go for an outing and enjoy the fun of spring. The weather in Tomb-Sweeping Day is usually around April 5th of the Gregorian calendar, that is, the first15th day after the vernal equinox.

The origin of cold food

Historical records: During the Spring and Autumn Period, Zhong Er, the son of the State of Jin, went into exile in other countries for 19 years to avoid disasters, and the minister Jiezitui always followed around and never gave up; Even "stock trading." Zhong Er tried to become a famous monarch "Jin Wengong". But meson tui didn't want to make a fortune, so he lived in seclusion with his mother in Mianshan. Jin Wengong ordered the release of Yamakaji to force him out of the mountain, but meson was determined not to go out of the mountain and eventually died in a fire. Jin Wengong remembered his loyalty, buried him in Mianshan, built a shrine and a temple, and ordered the prohibition of cold food on the day of Jiexiu to express his grief. This is the origin of the "Cold Food Festival".

In the development of later generations, the customs of sweeping, climbing, swinging, cuju, crochet and cockfighting were gradually increased. The Cold Food Festival lasted for more than 2,000 years and was once called the largest folk festival in China. Cold Food Festival is the only traditional festival of Han nationality named after food customs. Later generations, because the two festivals are too close, the festival activities are similar, and many old people simply spend the two festivals together. It has caused many people to think that cold food is actually a holiday illusion.
