1928, in order to welcome Dr. Sun Yat-sen's coffin, a Zhongshan Avenue was built in Nanjing. Since then, Zhongshan Road has appeared in many cities in China! Zhongshan Street in Xianyang may have appeared in this period, right?
Zhongshan Street is located in the center of the old city of Xianyang, east-west and slightly west, so it is called "West Street". In the fourth year of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang's Hongwu reign (137 1), Xianyang County moved here from Duyouguan (Renjiazui East, Weiyang Township, Weicheng District). During Jiajing, Wanli, Chongzhen and Qianlong periods in Ming Dynasty, Xianyang County was rebuilt on a large scale. It is unknown when this "West Street" was built. But it appeared in Xianyang County before the 16th year of Qing Qianlong (175 1)!

Zhongshan Street is about 1000 meters long from east to west, and connects Dongming Street in the east, which is the former site of the East Gate. Xining Street in the west is the former site of West Gate. 1952, widened; 1965, paving asphalt pavement and building sidewalks have become the main roads in the old city.
With the development of the city, after the completion of Renmin Road, Zhongshan Street gradually declined. But the shops on the north and south sides of the street are well preserved and antique, so they are called "old streets". Nowadays, after large-scale demolition, the old houses on both sides of Zhongshan Street are disappearing, and tall antique buildings are springing up like mushrooms after rain. Strolling through the old streets, I can occasionally see sporadic old buildings, but it is already in a state of "stormy"!

The Confucian Temple, located in the middle section of Zhongshan Road, has been transformed into Xianyang Museum, facing south and imposing. The existing ancient buildings here include Wooden Pailou, Qiantang, nave, Houtang, Dongxitang and Northwest Courtyard. On May 25th, 2006, Xianyang Confucian Temple was announced as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
In the 11th year of Qing Qianlong (1746), Xianyang County ordered Chai Jianhua to establish Weiyang Academy, which is located behind the Ming Lun Temple of the Confucian Temple and has about ten learning houses. Later, after continuous development, it has become the first junior middle school in Weicheng, and has trained a large number of outstanding talents for the local area.
To the east of Zhongshan Street, the north exit of Xianmen Lane is the former site of the county government. The county government sits facing south, with five halls, a warehouse on the left and a Cambodian room on the right, followed by two halls, three halls and four halls. Today, this is the office building of Weicheng Branch of Xianyang Public Security Bureau.

When I was a child, my family often took me to the old street, which is commonly known as "inside the street". There are a large number of small shops and old shops built along the street. Enter from Xining Street, cross Zhongshan Street, and then leave through North Street, and Xianyang Old Street will be finished!
Most of the old houses here are made of wood, with red walls and gray tiles, and the doors are sealed with boards. Between the two buildings, there will be a brick partition wall, which can play a "fire prevention" role. I clearly remember seeing the buildings here after the fire. Although one house was burned to ruins, the surrounding houses were intact.
At present, there are several old houses on Zhongshan Street, which have always maintained their historical features. Among them, Doujia biangbiang noodle, service building barber shop and Laowangjia shop are all famous old brands in Xianyang old city.

From the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the present, Zhongshan Street has a history of more than 300 years, witnessing the development and changes of Xianyang's old county, and retaining representative buildings in different periods, as if it were a lively open-air museum.
On Zhongshan street, trees cover the sky, and there are not many pedestrians and vehicles, which makes the city feel quiet. Strolling among them, the buildings of Confucius Temple in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the streets and alleys in the Republic of China, and various shops in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China are row upon row.
Before the college entrance examination, after finishing my homework every night, I would walk around Zhongshan Street and relax myself instantly. Over the past few years, Zhongshan Street has changed a lot. There are many high-rise buildings around, and the roadside is full of vehicles. Looking around, there is no obvious difference between this road and the streets of other cities!
