Compared with foreign third-generation spacecraft, shenzhou spaceship has the characteristics of high starting point and strong in-orbit staying ability. Shenzhou series manned spacecraft was launched by the Long March II F rocket specially developed for it. The launch base is Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, and the recovery site is Siziwangqi space landing site in central Inner Mongolia.
In addition to Yang Liwei, the first man in China, the return capsule of Shenzhou 5 manned spacecraft also contains a special flag of China, the flag of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the United Nations flag, samples of major currencies of RMB, and commemorative stamps of China's first manned space flight.
Extended data:
Spacecraft structure
The spacecraft structure is divided into four parts: orbital module, return module, propulsion module and additional module. Shenzhou spaceship orbital module is a cylinder with a total length of 2.8 meters and a maximum diameter of 2.27 meters. One end is connected with the return cabin, and the other end is connected with the space docking mechanism.
The orbital module is called "multi-function hall" because several astronauts have been in the orbital module except the return module during take-off and return. The orbital module integrates many functions such as working, eating, sleeping and cleaning.
The orbital module is the place where astronauts work and live after the spacecraft enters orbit. In addition to food, drinking water, urinals and other living devices, there are instruments and equipment for space applications and scientific experiments.
