Cordyceps sinensis is an ergot. It is a valuable Chinese herbal medicine with medicinal value. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that Cordyceps sinensis is the only medicine with the effect of tonifying yin and yang. Western medicine believes that the biggest medicinal function of Cordyceps sinensis is to resist gene mutation, that is, to fight cancer.
As for the antitussive effect: Cordyceps sinensis has no such effect in my understanding. Cordyceps sinensis can relieve cough indirectly.
Eat Cordyceps to relieve cough: The best way is to wash Cordyceps with cold water below 20 degrees for about 100 seconds to wash away pathogenic bacteria, parasite eggs and sediment. Then put it in your mouth and chew it. Chew as long as possible to achieve the purpose of breaking. The more you chew, the better. After that, you can choose to put it in your mouth and let it be absorbed slowly through the oral mucosa, or you can take it with cold water. Of course, I suggest that the former, through oral mucosal absorption, can play the most direct and best effect.
