the roe deer, also known as dwarf deer, wild sheep, roe deer, _, etc., is a herbivore of the genus roe in the subfamily Cervidae. It is one of the common wild animals in the northeast of China with high economic value, and has been listed in the List of Terrestrial Wild Animals with beneficial national protection or important economic and scientific research value, mainly distributed in Northeast China, outer manchuria and Siberia.

The roe deer is 1-14 cm long, with a tail of only 2-3 cm and a weight of 5-8 kg. The male is a little bigger, with naked nose and no hair, big eyes, suborbital glands, short, wide and round ears, long neck and limbs inside and outside, long hind legs slightly longer than forelimbs, long and narrow hoofs, ao glands and short tail.

the winter hair of roe deer is uniform grayish white to light brown, with brown snout, black nose, yellowish brown cheeks, yellowish brown ears, grayish brown ears, yellowish and nearly white ears, black ears, dark brown forehead, neck and body back, slightly brownish yellow jaw, grayish brown throat, yellowish abdomen and sandy yellow outside limbs. The inside is light, the tail is light yellow, there are obvious white patches on the buttocks, the summer hair is short and thin, it is pure yellow-brown from the mouth to the tail and the back of the limbs, and it is deep near the back midline, and the abdomen is light yellow from the chest, groin and even the inside of the limbs.

roe deer mostly inhabit sparse forest belts, and mostly move in river valleys and gentle slopes (generally not exceeding 24 meters above sea level). They are timid and live in dense forests during the day, and only move in open grasslands or bushes in the morning and evening. Their traces are widely distributed in three northeastern provinces of China.
