bergamot is a small evergreen tree or shrub of Citrus in Rutaceae. The flowering period is April-May and the fruit ripening period is October-December. Bergamot is a good fruit in potted plants.
1. temperature
bergamot likes warm, humid and sunny environment, and is afraid of cold. The temperature of cultivation environment should not be lower than 3℃. Afraid of dryness, it is suitable for cultivation in fertile acidic sandy soil.
Second, pruning
Chaenomeles should keep 3-5 fruiting branches to promote the formation of crown, and subtract 2/5 from the overgrown branches in summer, so that it can produce fruiting branches.
New shoots sprouted in autumn should be properly reserved for the next year. All the fruits that are not easy to set should be removed. There are too many fruits in bergamot, so it is necessary to remove the diseased fruits and weak fruits in time and supplement the nutrients to the fruits with good quality.
Third, cutting
Although cutting propagation is simple, fast and has high survival rate, it has poor drought and cold tolerance, less developed roots and shorter life span.
However, the propagation of bergamot is mainly cuttage, which is usually carried out in April-May in spring. The annual robust branches were selected as cuttings, the cuttings were about 2 cm long and planted in sandy soil.
After cuttage, it can take root in 2 months by supplementing the moisture of cuttage soil. After about 9 months, when the plant is 3 cm high, the cuttage seedlings can be transplanted in flowerpots.
iv. Pot soil
Pot soil adopts slightly acidic culture soil prepared by one third of garden soil, compost and river sand, which requires that the culture soil must be loose and fertile and rich in organic matter. Choose a potted plant with vegetarian mud, and the diameter of the flowerpot is slightly smaller than the crown.
First, cover the drainage hole with tiles, add 3 cm thick coarse culture soil or coarse sand, and then plant. When planting, cut off the main roots, excessively long lateral roots and injured roots, then add culture soil and compact.
after planting, water the roots and plant them in the shade.
5. Water
In the growing season, topdressing thin cake fertilizer every 1 days or so, and topdressing is not required after October. Always pay attention to watering, don't make the soil dry, and the basin soil can be slightly dry in winter. Turn over the basin in time during the rainy season, and don't let water accumulate in the basin.
In spring, when the new shoots grow to 15-2 cm, it is necessary to pick the heart in time to enrich the branches, which is beneficial to the differentiation of flower buds and the production of fruiting branches.
In winter, it is necessary to go indoors for the winter. The indoor temperature should be kept above 3℃ and the humidity should be kept at 7-8%.
VI. Pest control
Fingered citron is very delicate and prone to anthracnose, bituminous coal disease, scale insects and other diseases and pests. When diseases and pests are found, they should be prevented in time. We pay attention to strengthening management and keeping the trees clean and hygienic. Regular spraying of Bordeaux mixture can effectively control pests and diseases.
