morphological character
The whole body of Ampullaria canaliculata consists of five parts: head, feet, viscera, mantle and shell. The head is cylindrical with a pair of front and rear tentacles, the eye point is located at the base of the rear tentacles, and the mouth is located on the ventral surface of the kiss. The head and abdomen are fleshy feet with wide and thick feet, which can crawl on the pool wall and plant stems and leaves. Shells are short and round, large and thin, with right-handed shells and 4-5 spiral layers. The spiral layer of the shell is enlarged, the spiral part is extremely small, and the shell surface is smooth, mostly yellowish brown or dark brown. Umbilical foramen is large and deep, with brown horny slices and concentric growth lines, and the nucleus is biased to one side of the screw axis. The mantle is thin and transparent, covering the whole visceral sac. There is a thin film lung sac above the back of the mantle cavity, which can directly breathe oxygen in the air and has the function of assisting breathing. After the lung sac is inflated, snails can float on the water surface, and when disturbed, they will emit gas and sink quickly. The reproductive hole of the male screw is opened at the top of the joint, and the reproductive hole of the female screw is opened in the outer sleeve cavity.

The optimum water temperature for growth is 25 ~ 32℃, and the growth rate decreases obviously when it exceeds 35℃. The highest critical water temperature for survival is 45℃, and the lowest critical water temperature is 5℃. Ampullaria canaliculata has a wide range of feeding habits, is an omnivorous snail, and mainly feeds on plants. Its staple food is duckweed, vegetables, fruits and so on. , especially sweets.
