What are the side comments of Mr. Carrot's long beard?

as follows:

1. One day Mr. Carrot shaved his beard in a hurry and went out into the street with jam bread.

"Hurriedly" shows that Mr. Carrot was very busy, and lays the groundwork for what follows.

2. Mr. Carrot continued on his way, and when he passed Mrs. Bird's house under the tree, Mrs. Bird was looking for a rope to dry the baby bird's diapers.

There is only one ellipsis in this passage, which omits, on the one hand, the fact that Mrs. Bird cut a piece of Mr. Carrot's beard, tied it between two branches, and hung up a long string of baby bird diapers to dry. On the other hand it omits the magical story of what else will happen to Mr. Carrot as he continues on his way.

3. fret: to be sad because you have no idea or solution.

4. thick: dense (mostly referring to branches, smoke, whiskers, etc.)

5. jam: a paste made from fruit with sugar and pectin. Also called jam.

6. continue: (activity) to go on in a row; to prolong; to go on uninterrupted.

7. myopia: a condition in which the eyes can't see distant objects but can see near objects

8. firmness: ? Sturdy; solid.

9. dip: to dip in a liquid, powder or paste and take it out.

10. kite: a toy that is made of paper or silk pasted on a skeleton made of bamboo and gabion, etc., and pulled on a long string tied to it, so that it can be launched into the sky while the wind is blowing.

11. flutter: ? (to swing with the wind, etc.); float.

Continuing Mr. Carrot's Long Beard

Mr. Carrot continued on his way, and as he walked under the tree at Mrs. Bird's house, Mrs. Bird was looking for a string to dry the baby bird's diaper.

Mr. Carrot's beard just happened to be fluttering in the wind. "This rope is so thin and long, it's wonderful." Mrs. Bird hastily cut a piece, tied it between two branches, and hung up a big pile of baby bird diapers to dry.

Mr. Carrot continued on his way, and as he walked through the meadow, the grasshoppers were rehearsing for the fall harvest. Suddenly, one of the musicians broke a string, which made her anxious, as this was her first performance.

Mr. Carrot's beard just happened to be fluttering in the wind. "This string is thin and long it might work as a string." Regardless, the grasshopper musician cut off a section of the beard and threaded it on her instrument. She tuned the pitch and found that the instrument had a much more pleasing tone.

Mr. Carrot continued on his way, and as he walked past the pond, the kitten was fishing in the creek. The kitten threw the hook into the water, but the line was too short. It would not catch any fish at all.

Mr. Carrot's beard just happened to be fluttering in the wind. "The line is long enough, I just don't know if it's tough enough." The kitten pulled on his beard as he finished speaking, and when he was sure it was tough enough, he cut a piece of it to use as a fishing line, and in no time at all, he caught a big fish.

Mr. Carrot continued on his way and found an eyeglass store on sale. He thought: why don't I get a pair of glasses. When he put on the glasses, he realized his long beard. So he borrowed a pair of scissors from the salesman at the eyeglass store and cut off the long beard.

When he came out of the eyeglass store, he saw some ducklings playing with a skipping rope. But, their jump rope broke. So, Mr. Carrot gave them this beard that he cut off. The ducklings had a great time!

Mr. Carrot was walking home, and the grasshopper was performing, and the melodious music spread all over the town!
