It’s definitely not possible to see everything in one day, but I’ve arranged the best route for a one-day trip based on the order of attractions that I personally think must be visited.
The first one is the Summer Palace, the Old Summer Palace and the Olympic Park; the second one is the Forbidden City, Beihai and Houhai; the third one is the Huanghuacheng Water Wall.
1. Night views of the Summer Palace, Old Summer Palace, and Olympic Park 1. Summer Palace If my friend only has one day to visit, I will give him this recommendation.
In fact, half a day was not enough to visit the Summer Palace or Old Summer Palace, but due to limited time, we could only choose the most important attractions to visit.
Since you only have more than three hours, let’s go in through the newly built palace gate of the Summer Palace, which is very close to the Tongniu and the Seventeen-Arch Bridge.
Many photographers have a photo that uses the horns of a bronze bull as a frame to frame the Wanshou Mountain Buddhist Incense Pavilion. But now that railings have been built outside the bronze bull, you have to rely on a telephoto lens to take such a photo.
After seeing the Tongniu and the Seventeen-Arch Bridge, we will go to the Leshou Hall, Long Corridor, and Painted Boat. If you look at these places carefully, you will have almost the same time.
If you still have time, go to the Foxiang Pavilion Scenic Area.
2. Old Summer Palace If you go to Old Summer Palace in autumn, you must go to Ginkgo Avenue.
If you go in summer, you can also see the scene of "the infinite green lotus leaves connecting the sky".
No matter when you go, you must go to the Xiyanglou Ruins Scenic Area to see the ruins, otherwise your trip to the Old Summer Palace will be in vain.
The Xiyanglou ruins are charged separately, but tickets for Beijing attractions are relatively cheap.
3. Night view of Olympic Park There is a saying about broken bridges in Hangzhou: "A clear bridge is not as good as a rain bridge, and a rain bridge is not as good as a snow bridge." This means that the broken bridges in the snow are the most interesting.
For the Olympic Park, the night view is more worth seeing than the daytime view.
Because of the buildings including the Bird's Nest, when you look at them up close during the day, you will find that the building materials are still a bit rough, but they transform beautifully under the light, and the effect is equivalent to girls adding beauty to take photos.
2. Forbidden City, Beihai, Houhai 1. Forbidden City Needless to say, the Forbidden City is the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties lived and worked. Even if you can't keep up with the exhibition of precious cultural relics, you must go and see the architecture.
When you watch TV dramas, they often talk about "beheading at the Meridian Gate". You have to see what the Meridian Gate looks like, right?
You should also visit the familiar palaces such as Taihe Hall, Zhonghe Hall and Baohe Hall.
You also need to take a special photo of the upright and bright plaque where the emperor made his will.
The only small cultural relics that can be seen in the Forbidden City are the Clock and Clock Museum in addition to the Treasures Museum.
The museum has a large collection of exquisite clocks and watches produced in Britain, France, Switzerland and other countries. Every hour, there is a watch show in the museum, so don’t miss it.
2. Beihai Beihai Park was rated as a 4A-level scenic spot because it is located in Beijing, but this rating does not reflect its value.
There are countless cultural relics and historic sites in Beihai Park, and cultural relics such as the Qianlong inscription tablet are nothing.
My most recommended attractions are Jingxinzhai, Nine Dragon Wall and White Pagoda.
Jingxinzhai is located 300 meters west of the north gate of Beihai. It has been under renovation before and has only been opened to the public in the past few years.
