Changsha Vocational and Technical College of Civil Affairs was founded in 1984. In 1999, it was upgraded to a higher vocational and technical college with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In 2000, it implemented a new system established by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and Hunan Province and focused on provincial management.

A general higher education institution directly under the Ministry of Education; in 2009, it passed the acceptance inspection by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance and became one of the first 28 national model higher vocational colleges in the country.

The school adheres to the principle of being based on civil affairs, facing the society, adapting to the market, and opening up the school. It is service-oriented, employment-oriented, and follows the development path of integrating industry, academia, and research. The Funeral College is the most distinctive college of civil affairs in Changsha Vocational and Technical College of Civil Affairs.

It was founded in 1995 and has two majors: modern funeral technology and management and garden engineering technology. The funeral technology and management major is divided into three professional directions: funeral services, funeral equipment, and anti-corrosion and plastic surgery.

The opening of the Funeral College has filled two gaps in China's vocational education. It is currently the highest institution in China to train funeral professionals.

The department motto of our college is “Integrating Chinese and Western skills, combining moral integrity and skill”.

The School of Foreign Languages ??(formerly the Department of Applied Foreign Languages) of Changsha Civil Affairs Vocational and Technical College was established in 2003. It currently has more than 1,900 students and consists of the Department of Business English, the Department of Business Japanese, the Department of Foreign Tourism English, the Department of Korean Language for Foreign Tourism, and the Department of Foreign Affairs Management.

, Department of Aviation Services, six departments, and two College English Teaching Departments responsible for college English teaching throughout the college.

There are currently 119 full-time teachers, including 39 with senior professional titles, 61 lecturers, and 6 foreign teachers employed all year round.
